Overview

The eighth generation of Porsche 911 comes with the internal name of 992. The vehicle didn’t hit the market until 2019, but was first announced at the Porsche Experience Center, Los Angeles on 27th November, 2018. With the 992, the 911 is the same silhouette that makes this car an icon, now with a flatter hood, a steeper incline on the windscreen and more gentle rear sloping roof line. As per the previous 911 (991), the Carrera is now standard with a twin-turbo 3.0 engine, this produces a full 379bhp and torque of 331 lb-ft at just 1,950rpm in the Carrera and Carrera 4. The high torque and impressive bhp allows the standard Carrera to accelerate from 0-60mph in just 4.0 seconds, and with the Sports Chrono Package, just 3.8 seconds.

There has been several changes to both the exterior and interior, to modernise and update the 911. The interior is the most luxurious in design yet, with a 10.9″ touchscreen infotainment display, which seamlessly blends into a digital instrument cluster, making this the most technologically advanced 911 yet. The touchscreen is completely customisable, where you can drag and drop whatever you want into your display. Another nice feature about this screen, is you can choose from the different driving modes; Wet, Normal, Sport, Sport Plus, Individual. Alongside the Start/Stop, Exhaust system, and Spoiler settings and you can even customise the Chassis from Normal mode and Sport mode.
