Overview
The fastest Carrera and Targa in the line-up is the GTS model, after this model you can go in 2 directions, a track focused GT3 or the performance focused Turbo. However, if you want the perfect combination of luxurious comfort and massive performance, look no further than a 911 GTS model. The engine in the GTS is the 3.0 litre twin-turbo from the Carrera, but ramped up to 450hp, 30hp more than the Carrera S, and 20hp more than the 991.1 GTS. One of the true beauties in this car, that you might not get from some of the pricier models, is the power of choice: 7-speed manual, or, PDK. To those who want the true driver experience and like to be connected to the car, the 7-speed manual is a delight. However, if you are really looking to go for overall performance, you might choose the Carrera 4 GTS in a PDK, giving you the amazing four-wheel drive system and a 0-60mph time of 3.4 seconds. It’s important to consider, when looking back at the 911 range, a 450hp, manual, with a 0-60mph time between 3-4 seconds would have once been called the GT2RS, which shows just how far Porsche have come with a model like the 991.2 GTS.
The changes to the car in terms of design, first lets start with the most noticeable: the Targa. The Targa roll-bar is traditionally in aluminium, however the Targa GTS is painted in a sleek black. The interior is upgraded to Alcantara Seats. Both Carrera GTS and Targa GTS get the 20-inch 911 Turbo S centre-locked forged alloy wheels to improve performance and design. You will also notice at the rear, that the GTS has the sports-exhaust system; 2 large round exhausts producing an incredible sound.
