In 2012, Porsche released the Turbo S model to add to the 991 line-up. The Turbo S is an all-wheel drive, 3.8-litre flat-6 power house with 560hp and rear-wheel steering as standard. The Turbo S has been known as the “everyday supercar” due to it’s drivability, all-wheel drive, rear-wheel steering and it can get up to 31mpg if you drive it sensible enough. This is the first 911 to feature adaptive aerodynamics, with an active front spoiler and rear wing to create a total of 150kg of downforce when going at top speed. The 0-60mph time in this car is an incredible 2.9 seconds.
The Turbo S comes standard with the Ceramic Brakes, taking the brakes from 330mm to 410mm and are extremely capable. This car also comes standard with the Full LED headlights and black exhausts.
The design for the Turbo S is somewhat conservative, when you compare it’s speed and capabilities to that of it’s competitors in Lamborghini or Ferrari. This shape has proven time and time again to be that of incredible performance. The 911 has always had the appearance of a 911, which means that this is a timeless design.
If you are a lover of manual, look away, as the 991 Turbo S was only available with the PDK. However, this gearbox has proven to be nothing lesser than brilliant.
