Overview

When the 981 Cayman was launched, it was available in 2 variants – Cayman and Cayman S. Those who opted for the Cayman S, get the upgraded 3.4l flat-six producing 325hp, a full 50hp more. This means that it can reach 0-60mph in just 4.4 seconds with the PDK variant and Sports Chrono Pack. It came available in both Manual & 7-speed PDK. When launched, the press adored this Cayman, and it was announced as one of the best handling sports cars that money can buy, due to the lightweight structure and mid-engine setup. The 3.4l engine found in the Cayman S, was also the same engine Porsche used for the standard 911 Carrera – the Cayman version has 20hp less.

This won’t be the most powerful of the Cayman’s in the 981 line-up, later in the model line came the Cayman GTS and the mighty Cayman GT4.
