Overview
To end the model year, Porsche has done a few different “special” Boxster’s, including the GTS and the Spyder model. Typically, these are more powerful, more expensive and more driver focused. The Black Edition came right at the end in of the 981 in 2016 to offer a Boxster that is visually appealing, and has plenty of “options” all as standard. The first thing about the Black Edition comes at no surprise, and that is of course the Black paint applied to the sports car to give it a full stealth look. The soft top is black, with black roll-over hoops, even the housing for the lights is black to give it a consistent look. The optional extras found as standard on this car are: 20-inch Carrera Classic wheels, Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS) with black housing, Heated Seats with “PORSCHE” embossed headrests, two-zone climate control, Sports Design steering wheel, Sound Package Plus, Porsche Communication Management (PCM) sat nav, Park Assist front and rear, auto dimming mirrors, rain sensors, cruise control.
Besides the optional features, this Porsche is still the standard Boxster engine. The benefit of this special-edition is to get all the optionals you may want and a unique black styling.
